Report Cards

It is so weird for me to think that our kids are old enough to bring report cards home now. But they are! What happened to the time? It has gone by so fast. Anyway, they brought their first report cards home on Friday. Report cards are done differently nowadays. There are several categories (reading, mathematics, social skills, etc) which then have several subcategories. So they get a number grade for each category that is an average of all the subcategories in that section. They both did really, really well and got all 3's - which is, "meet or exceeds all expectations" - except for one subcategory each. They each have different things they need to be working on, but they are things that I have seen at home and we are already working on them. So we're pleased with their progress and so grateful that they're doing well. A good start to their school careers so far!
